Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-10-03
1. Acceptance
By using PDF Utils you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
2. The service
PDF Utils is a free, browser-based utility for splitting, merging, and converting PDF files. It's provided "as is" and "as available", and we may change or discontinue it (or parts of it) at any time without notice.
3. Your documents
You keep all rights to the files you process. Because everything runs locally in your browser, we never receive or store your documents. You are responsible for having the right to use the files you upload, and for any copies you make or share.
4. Acceptable use
- Don't use the service for anything unlawful, or to process content you don't have permission to use.
- Don't attempt to disrupt, overload, or interfere with the service.
- Don't misuse the service to infringe others' rights or privacy.
5. Known limitations
This is a lightweight, client-side tool, so some things work differently than a desktop editor:
- Encrypted or password-protected PDFs can't be opened.
- Converting a PDF to images rasterizes it — text becomes pixels, not selectable text.
- Some annotations, form fields (AcroForms), and fonts may not be preserved when splitting or merging.
- Very large files can slow down or exhaust your browser's memory.
Please review important output before relying on it.
6. No warranty
The service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the service — even if advised of the possibility.
8. Intellectual property
Your files remain yours. The PDF Utils name, design, and code remain our property (or that of our licensors) and may not be copied or reused without permission.
9. Changes and termination
We may update these terms from time to time; continued use after changes means you accept them. We may suspend or stop the service at any time.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the operator is based, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
